The most obvious answer would be because diseases are difficult to treat, very unpredictable and devastating. A mio parere le difficoltà che incontra un medico che vuole sperimentare teorie o cure differenti sono scandalose. Inoltre gli interessi che risiedono dietro malattie come l' AIDS e il cancro sono grandissimi e purtroppo essi prevalgono sempre sulla salute degl ' esseri umani. Anche nel campo della diagnostica precoce, nei casi di tumore, prevalgono ancora macchinari vecchi e di scarsa resa che ci vengono propinati come tecnologie all' avanguardia. Il punto è che per la salvaguardia della salute dovrebbe venire prima di ogni interesse economico, proprio perchè prima o poi tocca a tutti. Ciò che mi fa rabbia è che la maggior parte delle persone che dona 1€ per la ricerca pensa, giustamente, che sarà fatto tutto il possibile per cercare di combattere la malattia, ed invece non è così. Le soluzioni innovative, le nuove scoperte, i nuovi approcci vengono prima visti con occhi disprezzanti, e se poi va bene vengono usati in qualche caso. Io sono sicuro che se tutti i soldi di cui la ricerca ha potuto disporre fossero stati sfruttati a dovere, senza la pressione della lobby farmaceutica, sicuramente oggi saremmo in una better situation in the fight against these diseases.
